.about

On the job

I embrace challenges, pushing my limits with a fast-learning mindset and problem-solving approach. My work ethic is rooted in integrity, fairness, and continuous growth, ensuring I deliver results that not only meet but exceed expectations. Mentally resilient, I view criticism as a tool for improvement, using it to refine my skills and push beyond my limits.

Outside of work

I strive to outdo myself each day, immersing myself in stoicism, psychology, and the depth of human experiences while embracing life to the fullest. I find joy in creating—whether through woodworking, planting vegetables, or building solutions that enhance daily living, often supervised by my curious cats by my side. To disconnect, I bike with my nephew, enjoying the breeze, the peaceful scenery of ponds and trees, and the simple joy of his company.

I had so much fun tweaking this website since it uses a tool that is not common amongst the mainstream website builders. The tool has a bit of learning curve that I quickly picked up after a few days of testing and exploring.

.contribution

  • Implemented technical SEO strategies using Screaming Frog and Google Keyword Planner, boosting the website’s Google ranking to 20th and continuing to improve.
  • Created and edited web pages based on client requests, including landing pages and feature pages, while integrating plugins, Cloudflare, and Google Analytics.
  • Empowered the client with full control over website content and structure.
  • Acted as a funnel for people to contact my employer and look up available houses under my employer’s inventory.

This website came to existence because my past client is a patron of a dog shelter based in Mexico. Its an idea that I proposed since the only thing the dog shelter has in terms of marketing itself is a private page and word of mouth. This webpage is a big website with 60+ pages and is a hub for anyboby that is based in Canada or Mexico to fill-up a form and communicate with my past employer to adopt, sponsor, and or donate for the cause.

.contribution

  • Optimized website performance by resolving errors and improving image and video optimization.
  • Added metadata to improve SEO.
  • Developed new web pages for various dog profiles, integrating features such as forms, social media links, galleries, and third-party plugins.
  • Played a key role in advancing the shelter’s goals through impactful website enhancements.
  • Set up and manage a VPS (Virtual Private Server) for the website, featuring OpenLite integrations to enhance performance and ensure ongoing maintenance.
  • Oversee VPS and WordPress website security, including preventing bot-driven spam emails, blocking brute-force attacks on the backend, performing regular backups, and thoroughly reviewing code to detect and address any potential breaches.

This project started as a multi-page website for a starter Real Estate Social Media Managing Company based in Canada. But eventually became a single-page website. I got hired for this project due to the recommendation of my past client about my skills in creating and connecting all the necessary connections from registering a domain, connecting to a domain service, to connecting it to a Wordpress hosting service, and creating the website itself.

.contribution

  • Leveraging my experience with WordPress, I designed this website with careful consideration of the server’s limited resources, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • I also created several designs for the website, carefully aligning them with my client’s criteria and preferences.
  • I also integrated plug-ins for security and also SEO such as the Google Suite.
  • I collaborated with the client, accommodating her schedule despite the time zone difference.

Invoice Backup and Send via Gmail

.use

This is the very first project that I made for myself that mainly tackles the problem with tracking my invoice sent, consistency, errors on the input on the invoice, and efficiency for both me and my employer.

Note: I did not keep scalability and future-proofing in mind for this design. In other words, I think this design has hit its limit in terms of upgradability, and it’s better to overhaul the system and use other tools like PayPal or Stripe, depending on the use case.

.upgrades

  • I can set up invoice creation, tracking, and follow-ups for different financial services companies.
  • This could also have a system for sending notifications
  • On top of that, I can also set it up so that it sends data to dashboard creation platforms like Power BI and ClickUp.

Social Media Filler Post Creation and Posting (Facebook, Linkedin)

.use

I have used this system back when I was posting manually through meta business suite for Facebook and Instagram. Manually for Google My Business and also on the personal account of my client.

This automation is made specifically to post what I call are “filler post”. These posts are things that prioritizes being active as opposed to posting property listing everyday. Its main purpose was to show people that aside from the listings, my past employer got insight and valuable nuggets of knowledge in the real estate industry

.upgrades

  • Multi-Platform Integration
    • Connect posts to other social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram or even multiple pages on the same platform.
  • Newsletter Development & AI Enhancement
    • Iterate on the initial AI-generated response to elaborate and convert it into a newsletter.
    • Use a better AI model for improved content generation.
    • Scrape relevant news sites in the industry, compile the data, and generate newsletter content using AI.
  • Scheduling & Automation Control
    • Posts can be scheduled by manipulating the automation run time.
    • Enhance this by adding a time column in Google Sheets, which can be used as a filter in the automation to decide whether to post or not.
  • Handling Multiple Posts per Day
    • The current system works for a single post per day.
    • I can improve it by incrementing the posting hours and using a dynamic column check in Google Sheets to manage multiple posts per day.
  • Notification & Status Updates
    • Implement a notification system that sends an email after a post is published.
    • Update Google Sheets with a “posted” status after successful posting.
    • While not necessary for my use case, these are good quality-of-life improvements that can be added if needed.

ThMas - The Me Assistant

This thesis came to be when I myself am suffering from procrastination. Luckily, I love talking with my psychology friends and watching TED Talks in Youtube about the topic. One particular video stood out not just to me, but to many people around the world was a video done by Tim Urban. This was back when I was an out of school youth with an introverted personality and a very active brain.

Fast forward to college, people around me see me as a nonchalant and “wasted potential” since I prefer drinking than studying. Every exam, I keep swearing to myself that ill get myself together for the next exam and be a good student. That never came to pass until my last chance came. My thesis idea was approved and chosen among the 5 other ideas that my group mates had.

I felt exhilarated and truly aimed not just to pass, but to be the best thesis against all the other colleges in our city. I have never worked harder in my life before this moment and it was truly worth it. I felt what Sisyphus felt when he was pushing the boulder uphill for eternity.

.contribution

  • Apart from being the originator of the idea, I was assigned by our team leader to handle UI/UX design due to my strong eye for design.
  • Created a draft in Photoshop to visualize the UI/UX and proposed it to the team. Once approved, I began development using Kotlin.
  • In addition to UI/UX, I was responsible for all graphic design elements, including the logo and infographics required for the project presentation.
